I can never forget the first time I struck a bag. Just a child, The feeling on impact was a reminder that I was built to survive any struggle. It was nearly a decade later that I owned my own bag. And I have continued to knock it around almost every day. Though it may not be the same , or always a bag. When I traveled in the woods I wood wrap a coat or towel around a tree a strike lightly to work on technique, timing, and distance. Among the trees and wildlife the experience attained another layer. I felt truly connected with the many millennia of individuals who have honed themselves through this method of training.

A Modality Millennia Old
The bag itself is a keeper of the journey tread to mastery. It has been used by warriors in nearly every culture to hone their skills through daily ritual. each one keeping track of the individual(s) who crafted themselves through its use with every swing, dent, tear, and repair. It deserves our respect after enduring long past the great empires we know used them, this includes empires as vast and varied as Rome, Mongols, and Egypt to shaolin monks and the samurai of Japan. We are carrying on a ritual likely older still. I have found it difficult not to engage in such training as I trave along the journey of life when keeping this in mind. What an honor to be a part of such a grand tradition.
